Ahmin Baksh has over 45 years of electrical engineering experience and practice and has held senior positions in three Caribbean utilities viz. T&TEC, ANGLEC and GRENLEC.

Ahmin Baksh has over 45 years of electrical engineering experience and practice and has held senior positions in three Caribbean utilities viz. T&TEC, ANGLEC and GRENLEC.

Graduated in 1978, employed at the Trinidad & Tobago Electricity Commission for 13 years mainly in the transmission system planning section of the utility. In 1990 he moved to Anguilla on contract with the Commonwealth Development Corporation as Transmission and Distribution Engineer for the Anguilla Electricity Company Limited. Responsibilities included the setting up and running of the new department.

Returned to Trinidad in 1993, engaged in diverse engineering related occupations including General Manager of AGOS Manufacturing Limited.

In 2000, employed on contract with the Grenada Electricity Services Limited as the Planning & Engineering Manager. Responsible for setting up of the Planning & Engineering Department of the company. Returned to Trinidad in 2003 and functioned as an Independent Engineering Consultant.

In 2007, appointed as Chief Electrical Engineer and Head of the Electrical Engineering Section of Genivar, Trinidad & Tobago Ltd.(now WSP).

In 2013, returned to GRENLEC on a 2-year contract to mentor a chosen engineer and prepare him to assume the position of Planning and Engineering Manager.

Professional affiliations include the Association of Professional Engineers of Trinidad & Tobago. Served on the Executive Council in different capacities and President during the 2008/2009 term. Board Member, the Board of Engineering of Trinidad & Tobago (BOETT) between 2012 and 2013. Elected President of the Trinidad & Tobago Group of Professional Associations (TTGPA) 2019 and 2020. He is also a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.

Member of the TTTI since 2008.

Currently retired but remains active as an Independent Consulting Engineer.
